Avoid at the Webster Underground

By Carrie Brum

Avoid, an incredible heavy rock band from Seattle WA, took Hartford CT by storm last night. The weather might have been chilly outside, but the venue really heated up once Avoid stepped on stage. They had the crowd moving and jumping with every beat; literally shaking the floor beneath our feet!

With an electrifying and high energy live performance Avoid leaves nothing to be missed. Their music is authentic, relatable, and has everything a music fan could want. With powerful vocals, striking guitars, monumental bass and heart-pounding drums, you could really feel the music deep in your soul.

At the Webster Underground the members in Avoid were two stepping, jumping, drum battling, and letting out all of their energy! The Crowd was just as electrified as Avoid, singing along as loud as they could and moving every chance they got. The audience let out a huge roar at the end of the show and demanded an encore, which Avoid happily provided!

Personally, I really enjoyed how happy the members looked on stage. You can tell they're doing what they love. It really warms my heart every time I see such brilliant smiles on performers' faces. We even got a preview of a brand new song titled “Burn”!

During this headlining tour Avoid was accompanied by Reece Young. Reece is a great fit to tag along with the band as his sound is very similar and equally as good. Reece and his band put on a phenomenal performance.

This tour is continuing for two more dates in PA! One at Silk City Diner, Philadelphia, and the second at Basement Transmissions in Erie.

Last but not least, two local acts really brought the heads and opened up the night right. Both Fathom Farewell (MA) and Endeavor (CT) put on spectacular performances. With heavy hitting bass, marvelous guitar, killer drums, and powerful vocals, these locals did not disappoint. Fathom Farewell had some groovy mythical elements to their songs, while Endeavor were more classic heavy metal! Overall this was a fantastic show through and through.

If you are looking for more shows that have it all, look no further than an AVOID show!
