Scene Queen Summer School Tour

By Carrie Brum

The Worcester Palladium was absolutely packed for the Idobi Radio Summer School Tour Featuring The Home Team, Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, Honey Revenge, Let Down, and the woman of the hour Scene Queen. Buzz of Scene Queens' return to Massachusetts had the fans pumped up! Once you arrived at the venue you noticed a large number of fans wearing her signature color, pink!

Once it was time for Scene Queens’ set the venue's lights changed to all pink and you could feel the excitement in the air. Scene Queen came out in an incredible pink outfit from Iheartraves and was ready to party! She ended up playing a lot of her new songs off her newest album “Hot Singles In Your Area.” Some of the songs she played for this set included: 18+, Whips and Chains, Pink Push Up Bra, and Milf. She also played some older tracks including Pink Panther.

Scene Queen brings a new meaning to the word empowerment for the LGBTQ+ and women of the world with her messaging as she talks about important subject matters like women's rights in her music. 18+ is a great example of a song with such important meaning discussing the issues around under aged girls being taken advantage of by band dudes. Whips and Chains is also another favorite of mine for the message; she speaks about spiking drinks and female safety around show culture. It's incredible to see Scene Queen standing up for all the women of the world and writing music that is so empowering and important. If you haven't gotten a chance to listen to “Hot Singles In Your Area” I highly recommend you do as every single song is a banger but manages to be completely unique as well.

Scene queen had some fantastic merch for sale as well including all 3 albums on vinyl, some pink hoodies with a bedazzled rib cage on it, some t-shirts, and a couple other small items! She will be on the Idobi Radio Summer School tour until 8/17 so there might still be time to see her in your area!

** Please note: I am a wheelchair user and the Worcester Palladium’s photo pit is not accessible. All images were taken from the ADA section. I would like to take a moment to encourage venues to make their photo pits accessible so all can be included.
